In the short term, buying a coffee maker may seem like a questionable investment. Why spend hundreds of dollars on something that you can get at your local coffee shop for $7? Here’s the thing: In the long term, those $7 coffees add up. This isn’t a finance blog, but believe me, over time you’ll save money.
The question is, which should you get? I want to outline a couple options for you guys. We’re going to break it out by price point, low end, medium, and high end. Without further adieu, let’s get brewing.
Low Budget

For those of you who live in big cities, have you ever noticed how it seems like every apartment building has GE Appliances? They are the industry standard when it comes to high-quality, affordable kitchen appliances.
For under $100, you get a drip coffee maker that is programmable up to 24 hours, can be poured directly into a travel mug, and even mid-brew pour capabilities for those of us who are impatient.
Mid-Sized Budget
Welcome to the big leagues, kid. You’ve graduated from Keurig and you’re looking for something more. It’s like breaking up with your high school sweetheart. Sometimes you have to move on to grow as a person. While changing coffee makers might not be quite at that level, I think you get the idea.

In this stage of your coffee evolution you have to leave the K-Cups behind. Nothing wrong with them, but as any coffee purist will tell you, the real is better. Look, have you ever seen a coffee shop serve you a K-Cup? Exactly. Let’s discuss this drip coffee maker from De’Longhi.
Taking a look at all the size options alone is enough to get me excited. The espresso size capability speaks to the versatility of this beautiful piece of machinery. 3, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24 oz options leaves me feeling like I left my blogging career behind me to go back into math class! Not only that, but three strength settings and the ability to put it over ice. I really like the look as well. Fits nicely next to an oven or a refrigerator. For $500, it’s a good price for how much you get.
High-End

This is pure coffee excellence right here. The GIGA X8 from Jura is one of the greatest specialty coffee makers in the history of coffee making. If I see this in someone’s house, you know what I think to myself? I think “dang, we’ve got a real coffee drinker on our hands here!”
The price point of $8,995 is nothing to scoff at. But hey, you’re on Kitchen Luxury! Go find a discount site if you can’t take the heat. And tell them I sent you. This automatic drip machine is fully programmable. Select how much water and milk you want, along with the temperature and strength. You might be thinking to yourself, why are there two nozzles for making two coffees at once. Because why not!
So, there you have it. A look at three of my favorite coffee makers at different price points, all of which I give rave reviews on. Good luck making your selection, and stay tuned for more content about kitchenware. Happy brewing!
