How I Made A 5-Star Meal at Big Bend National Park With the Best Camping Cookware Set

If you’re reading this post, you’re likely somewhat of an outdoors and hiking enthusiast. So why are you on a kitchen and cooking site? Because I’m about to tell you the juicy details of how I cooked up a mouthwatering 5-star meal during my recent camping retreat to Texas’s Big Bend National Park with the best camping cookware set. Merging camp cooking and gourmet cuisine became certainly possible thanks to a few trusty kitchen essentials that I brought along.

Outdoor Cookware (Pans, Griddle, Etc.)

Let’s talk pots and pans. Now, when it comes to this essential piece of cooking information, few brands make it better than Williams Sonoma. Their sets are the epitome of quality and durability, and they’re worth every penny. On my camping trip, I opted for their high heat nonstick outdoor set, which included a roaster, pizza pan, and outdoor griddle. They were especially perfect for sautéing our appetizers: veggies and simmering sauces.

The equipment heated up evenly and was easy to clean up, even in the great outdoors it was a breeze. When you’re cooking up a storm under the stars, you want reliable cookware that can handle the heat, even if you’ve gotten out of the kitchen.

Portable Griddle

The weekend of five-star quality dining would not have been possible without my portable griddle from Blackstone. Camping without grilling is like 4th of July without fireworks and hot dogs. It was compact and foldable, so it didn’t take up much space in the back of my F-150. The Omni griddle plate requires fewer BTUs to produce high heat, meaning you can use less propane. Lucky for us, considering we had more than a few Private Reserve Wagyu steaks from Omaha Steaks. Great stuff.

Now, you might be wondering – how did all these kitchen luxuries come together to create a 5-star meal? Well, picture this: I used my trusty cookware set to sauté some fresh veggies and whip up a delectable pasta sauce. While that simmered away, I fired up the pizza oven and crafted a gourmet pizza. And to top all that off, I threw some marinated steaks on the griddle. The result was a feast fit for foodie royalty, all enjoyed against the breathtaking backdrop of Big Bend National Park.

Cooking a 5-star meal on a camping retreat is not only possible, but also a deliciously rewarding experience. With the right tools by your side, you can elevate your outdoor cooking game to new heights.
